hi to newcomers, and old friends

Hey everyone, long time without a newsletter, huh? That's because I've been busy writing, posting excerpts of my work at www.writing.com/authors/shelley2007 (I've also set up a discussion page at my site, www.shelleystoehr.com, so far it's set up for discussion of my new works, but if you have a discussion idea, let me know!) Anyway, I've also set myself up on Myspace and Livejournal, so I've been busy keeping up with or getting that going.On a personal note, I'm quitting drinking because it always makes me cry and freaks out my husband. It's going to be hard after a long day with the kids, to not have a vodka rocks, but I think it's something I should do.
I'm about 50 pages into a new book, called The Book, which was a short story in the anthology Lost and Found, but which I've expanded, or am in the process anyway. I'm finding it to be a tough book to write because it covers time from when the protagonist is in 4th grade til 9th grade (or maybe 8th, I haven't decided yet), plus there are really 2 main characters with lives going on.
